One of the best additions to the Tiki scene in LA. Always enjoy my drinks here and the cocktail of the month is always a blast. Don't sleep on all the homemade sauces. God bless the HORK.

On a rainy day, this was a terrific secret hideaway that a friend revealed to us. From the moment we entered, I was taken away by the decor. In fact, I would have given a 5-star review just on the waiting area! Took time to play some pinball and enjoy the setting. THEN came the restaurant. What a sensory overload, trying to take in every little tchotchke within the tiki kitsch was amazing. Did not have food, but every plate I saw was tempting. Should we keep this secret to ourselves?! It's perfect for those in the know, and a great surprise for those yet to discover!

You never want to order food just before the kitchen closes but in this case it was unavoidable. The team was very understanding, and the dishes came out hot, fresh and delicious. The staff was fun and enthusiastic. We came in Pirate attire since, hey, broken compass.

Holy WOW... The menu is clearly labeled, and the food is fantastic. The servers are on point, the kitchen is slaying it. Tonight I had there gluten-free fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the seasoning was on point. I had it with their sweet potato fries, which are straight up some of the best sweet potato fries I have ever had. Absolutely fantastic. I got them with the garlic chive aioli, which complimented them perfectly. Wash it all down with a nice dry cider, and I am one blissful soul. If you're in the area, and you got a little pirate at heart and you, you got to try the broken compass. And the place is decorated perfectly for a tiki bar, and their selection of rum drinks, makes it all extra magic.

It's a Disney-esq speakeasy pirate tiki bar which sounds wild, but it works. Even the bathrooms are themed like a sunken ship. A few things to know: they will not seat you until your entire party has arrived and there is a 90 minute time limit once seated (excluding the bar). I ordered the lobster roll and it was adequate. Their chicken sandwich was actually quite good. The drinks are where they excel. I've tried several options and they are consistently strong and delicious. They are expensive but no more than any other Tiki bar I've been to. I wish they sold more Broken Compass tiki mugs. As of my last visit, they had only one and it was $70. The reason why I rated the service low is because my last server was power tripping. I ordered the small Scorpion Bowl so I could sip for a while without having to flag down the waiter for a second. Our server said, rather pretentiously, "fine, but I'm cutting you off." I asked if there was a two-drink limit. He said no. I pointed out that the scorpion bowl says it's for two people on the menu. He stared for a moment before saying something to the effect of "fine but I'll be watching you, because I don't want people getting plastered." That had already explained my reasoning behing the order with zero intent to get plastared. It really rubbed me the wrong way. Hopefully next time I'll have a better waiter. *** UPDATE *** I've revisited and has a MUCH better server. Also, they have a variety of new and unique tiki glasses and shirts. Their poke nachos were delicious. Wonderful improvements all around!

Service was great, and every dish we ordered was 10/10 in both flavor and presentation. Highlights included the surprise burger special, crispy fish taco, caesar salad, tots, brussel sprouts and onion rings. We were a little disappointed in the cocktails though. The 8-9 different cocktails we tried were okay but not as good as advertised, we expected more given that it is a tiki bar.
